Jason Schreier (Kotaku), when confronted with the truth, refuses to delete and/or correct his claims about the ArenaNET “Reddit will fire you” troll post [Ethics]

Ever since two regressive employees of ArenaNET got the 'consequences' regressives always crave so much, the gaming media has been on a rampage. They found a troll post from a regressive that they twisted into being something representing the views of the Guild Wars 2 community. They continued making these claims, even after the troll admitted to being a troll, despite being fully aware of it.

One of the worst actors was Jason Schreier of Kotaku, who emulated the ethics of his colleague Nathan Grayson when he unironically quoted from the troll post and taunted ArenaNET for doing a "great job" for… creating a troll?

I messaged Jason Schreier with the facts when I discovered the truth. I had the work he and his colleagues were too indolent, unable or incapable to do – doesn't sound like that much of a challenge, right? It took several days for him to be active on Reddit, but he had a lot of activity yesterday and two days ago. This included replies to people who were talking to him, so he did definitely pay attention to his inbox. Of course, he completely ignored the correction and the facts. As of July 15, he has still not removed the tweet with the lie about the troll post. Nor has Kotaku updated its articles.

We can safely conclude that Jason knows the truth about the post, but that he simply doesn't care that he and the blog that employs him have been blatantly lying (or that he knew about it from the beginning). They are not interested in the truth. They don't want people to be aware of the truth. Remember that this is the guy who groveled after regressives screamed at him for daring to taunt us with his victory of a 'despicable' gaming journalism award.

Edit: Looks like Nathan Grayson had a momentary lapse of dishonesty. He has updated the article to include the following phrase:: "Redditor 5NightsAtUndert413 now claims that their post was insincere, and that they made it to try and hold a mirror up to GW 2's community. However, they made no indication of that in the original, now-deleted post." Of course, we recognized it as obvious satire when we read it, but I guess Grayson thinks of his opposition as mustache-twirling villains, so he thought it was completely legit. Stop drinking your own Kool-Aid, Nate.
