Brazilian reporter publishes picture of a bill left unpaid by the emir of Qatar in a Moscow hotel. Shortly after, security dragged him out of the hotel. “I just had a taste of what the World Cup in Qatar will be in terms of freedom!”, he tweets. [Links and details inside]

Jamil Chade, a journalist who is covering the World Cup for O Estado de S. Paulo, one of Brazil's biggest newspapers, published this story a few minutes ago (link in Portuguese).

He was in a "FIFA hotel" in Moscow and was eating in the same restaurant as the emir of Qatar, who was invited to watch the final and represent the hosts of the next World Cup. According to Chade, the emir left the premises without paying the bill and he (the journalist) was asked to settle it (!). So he took a picture of it and commented the surreal moment. Immediately afterwards, security expelled him from the hotel.

With no reason, I have been grabbed by four security guards and taken out of Fifa hotel just minutes ago, in Moscow. No reasons given and other journalist allowed to stay.

Hotel now claims it was a "mistake" the fact that I was grabbed out of hotel and allowed me back in. Amazing. No reasons given yet.

Hotel now explains I was grabbed out because I violated the "right of privacy" of the emir of Qatar. Yesterday, he left restaurant of hotel without paying the bill and waitress asked me to settle the bill. I took a picture of it and posted. Reason enough to be kicked out!

I just had a taste of what the World Cup in Qatar will be in terms of freedom!

And here's the unpaid bill. The emir left behind a 5,770 rubles bill (about 92 dollars).
