In the season following their passing, tributes poured in to pay respect to the passing of Sam Foltz and Mike Sadler.

Sam Foltz

The University of Nebraska had a huge number of tributes throughout the season, too many to list here. However, they used this logo throughout the season.

Nebraska also named a scholarship after Sam, issued gear with the above logo printed on it to the team, and brought out his jersey to every game (all can be seen in the video here).

During the first punt of the year versus Fresno State, Nebraska sent out 10 players, since they were missing a man.

On Senior Day, Nebraska seniors laid flowers on the 27th yard line to honor their fallen teammate.

Purdue presented Nebraska with a 27 Foltz Purdue jersey

Wisconsin's Kicker Rafael Gaglianone Changed his number to 27 and participated in a pregame tribute with Nebraska specialists

An Ohio State helmet with 27 buckeye leaves was presented to Nebraska pregame by the Buckeyes.

Nebraska was presented with a Foltz 27 Minnesota Jersey and flowers by the Golden Gophers

The Terrapins presented the Huskers with a Foltz 27 Maryland jersey

Iowa presented Nebraska with a Foltz 27 jersey

For their bowl game, the Tennessee presented Nebraska with a signed Foltz 27 Jersey

Mike Sadler

Michigan State honored Mike Sadler first with a tribute video, highlighting who he was as a player and a person. Sadler was also inducted into the MSU Hall of Fame, and had his number painted into the field in their game versus Wisconsin.

BYU paid tribute to both Mike Sadler and Milan Hicks (former MSU player that was tragically shot and killed on September 25, 2016 in Calgary, Alberta) by placing flowers on the 3 (Sadler's number) and 6 (Hicks' number) yard lines.

Illinois paid tribute to Mike Sadler by presenting the Michigan State specialists with a signed Illinois jersey, bearing his name and number.

Colby Delahoussaye, the only survivor of the crash that killed Sadler and Foltz, honored the two with custom cleats

The Big Ten honored both Mike Sadler and Sam Foltz with a coin featuring both players.

The Illinois specialists also had honored both Sam Foltz and Mike Sadler by printing their respective numbers on their warm up shirts

Hunter Niswander, a punter for Northwestern, organized a tribute to the fallen players prior to the 2016 season.

Not the 2016 season, but in their first meeting after the tragedy, Nebraska and Michigan State honored both players in a pregame ceremony.
